Commercial Energy Statements

What Are Commercial Energy Statements?

A Commercial Energy Statement is now required by some Local Authorities to demonstrate that your project is setting best practice for CO2 reduction in line with the Governments planning policy “PPS 25 planning for climate change”

What the Commercial Energy Statement outlines is how the development will reduce its total yearly energy demand through the use of sustainable technologies. Initially the project will have an SBEM Calculation undertaken to obtain the CO2 ratings. The Commercial Energy Statement will also include which technology is the most appropriate based on site location, cost and payback.

Commercial Energy Statements can include a BREEAM assessment which shows how a project reduces CO2 emissions in the construction phase and for the lifetime of the building.

The report is detailed and includes graphs so you can see how much reduction has taken place.

Where do we fit in?
