What are Domestic Energy Statements?
When your domestic project is submitted to planning for planning permission, you may be asked to submit a Domestic Energy Statement in support of your application. The Domestic Energy Statement outlines how your project will reduce CO2 emissions, using various sustainable technologies compared to the project passing minimum Building Regulation standards.
Once the initial review is completed the Domestic Energy Statement outlines the most appropriate technology based on CO2 reduction, cost and location. The Domestic Energy Statement can include a pre-code assessment which shows how a project reduces CO2 emissions in the construction phase and for the lifetime of the building. The report is detailed and includes graphs so you can see how much reduction has taken place.
Currently the SAP calculation used is SAP 2005. But from October Part L 2010 comes into force and a new calculation called SAP 2009 calculations will used to demonstrate compliance.
