SAP Calculations New Build

What are SAP Calculations?

The Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) is the Governments approved methodology for the energy rating of dwellings in the UK.

A SAP calculation outlines a buildings CO2 emissions based on a typical domestic property. The SAP calculation takes into consideration your projects fuel type, space heating & hot water, lighting, ventilation, insulation levels, air tightness and thermal mass. It is then ran against the CO2 emission targets set by the Government in order to demonstrate compliance.

The SAP Calculation also gives you an indication of how energy efficient your project is.
Currently the SAP calculation used is SAP 2005. But from October Part L 2010 comes into force and a new calculation called SAP 2009 calculations will used to demonstrate compliance. For more information on this please see our dedicated website for this www.sap2009calculations.co.uk
