SAP Calculations For Extensions

What are SAP Calculations for extensions?

SAP Calculations for Extensions are a completely different from SAP Calculations for a new build, the primary use of the SAP calculation is to demonstrate that your project complies with Approved Document Part L1B. The SAP Calculations for Extensions are only needed when the extension exceeds the 25% glazing to floor area ratio, or if the heating system is extended into the extension therefore increasing the energy needed to heat the dwelling.

Currently the SAP Calculations for Extensions use SAP 2005 to get the energy ratings. But from October Part L 2010 comes into force and a new calculation called SAP 2009 calculations will used to demonstrate compliance. For more information on this please see our dedicated website for this www.sap2009calculations.co.uk

Where do we fit in?

As Energy Assessors, we take your proposed extension and run against a notional extension that complies with Approved Document Part L1B in order to show compliance.

This type of calculation can be confusing on how you have gained compliance, to overcome this your SAP Calculation for the Extension is issued with a cover report that shows you how you gained compliance. This report has been priased by Local Authorities as clear and concise

“We appreciated the quick turnaround and clear way the report was set out. I will use woodward nrg services again for all my calculations”
