SBEM Calculations For Conservatories

When do I need SBEM Calculations for a Conservatory?

Under Approved Document L2B, SBEM Calculations for conservatories are required if the works are not exempt from Regulation 9 and if the conservatory is not thermally separated from the existing building. Should the works be deemed not exempt, then Paragraph 32a states the SBEM Calculation for conservatories should be carried out as if it was a conventional extension.

From 1st October 2010 Building Regulations Approved Document Part L is due to change and so is the current version of SBEM Calculations, this could mean changes to the way your results are shown. We will of course give full support on the matter.

How can we help?

Our trained Energy Assessors will ask you a few questions and will issue a short checklist of the required information, and from there produce a clear report for Building Control to review and accept no questions asked. The final SBEM Calculation for conservatories is issued with a cover report showing how we gained compliance.

“This calculation was confusing to me, but your report made it simple to follow, cheers”
