SBEM Calculations For Refurbishments

When are SBEM Calculations needed for refurbishments?

Generally when you do any type of commercial refurbishment you will have to submit an SBEM Calculation for Refurbishments in order to demonstrate the proposed work is no worse than the existing. Having an SBEM calculation for Refurbishments can also largely be down to the local Building Control Officer.

Sometimes consequential improvements might be all that is needed to demonstrate compliance. Under this you will not need an SBEM Calculation for Refurbishment.

From 1st October 2010 Building Regulations Approved Document Part L is due to change and so is the current version of SBEM Calculations, this could mean changes to the way your results are shown. We will of course give full support on the matter.

How can we help?

Our team of Energy Assessors are highly trained to deal with complex SBEM Calculations for Refurbishments in order to maximise the SBEM rating to gain a confident pass on the often misunderstood Building Regulation.
