SBEM Calculations what are they?
SBEM Calculations are the Governments method of measuring the energy use of commercial buildings on a yearly basis. Much like a SAP calculation for a domestic property, commercial buildings must also meet the targets set by the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.
Every commercial building is required to produce a SBEM Calculation from 7th April 2006 by law. There are 2 stages to the whole process, Initially we will undertake an "As designed" SBEM Calculation to give you an overall pass for Building Regulations, and then once your project is complete we will issue and "As built" SBEM Calculation. We can also provide the "On Construction" Energy Performance Certificate for the project.
From 1st October 2010 Building Regulations Approved Document Part L is due to change and so is the current version of SBEM Calculation.
